West Florida Foster Care Services is excited to announce our Holiday Event, Twinkle in the Terrace, December 19, 2020, from 5:00–8:00 pm, at Temple Terrace United Methodist Church, 5030 East Busch Boulevard. We are partnering with Temple Terrace United Methodist Church and South Tampa Fellowship to offer an evening of holiday fun for the whole community, focusing on supporting and encouraging local foster families.  Foster families will be able to attend a special private shopping hour from 5pm-6pm by invitation only. During this hour, foster parents will be able to fill stockings for each child in their care. They will also receive a fresh food box, as well as other special gifts in appreciation for the selfless hard work they do to care for our most vulnerable children daily.

This free Holiday event will be open to the public from 6:00–8:00 pm. Families can enjoy a night out celebrating the holiday season with live music, readings of the Christmas story, photos with Santa, and activities for kids, as well as treat, craft, and game stations that will all be open for free to everyone. We are so excited to treat the community to a socially distanced fun night out to celebrate the season.

There will also be several food trucks for families to purchase food and drinks, as well as local vendors selling their wares for those last minute holiday shopping needs.

We will have some fun raffles happening on our Facebook page prior to this event, so you’ll want to follow our page at http://www.facebook.com/WFFCS.

We are excited to welcome all foster families to enjoy getting to know other families in the foster care community and form new friendships. We all need a village, and we’d like to help these families continue to build theirs! We are equally excited to welcome the community to our first annual event in Temple Terrace!

With Hillsborough County leading the state of Florida on the number of children in foster care, our local foster families need our support now more than ever! If you’ve ever considered becoming a licensed foster home, we will have information available for you! We believe that everyone can do something to support those in foster care, and will also have information on how you can support families that take in these children throughout the year.
